Please note that Shaina is working every other Wednesday on one week and every other Friday and Saturday on the alternate week (with Jaclyn working the alternate Friday and Saturday). I aspire to create an environment of health and healing through an artful blend of techniques, a sensitive touch, and a compassionate spirit, while encouraging my clients to become active participants in their own wellness.

I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity attend the reputable Brian Utting School of massage before it closed, where I also participated in an eight month internship with Dr. David Vlasuk, a Bellevue cranial specialist chiropractor. While working alongside Dr. Vlasuk, I gained experience with a variety of issues ranging from fibromyalgia, to post traumatic stress disorder, to disc degeneration and found it incredibly rewarding to make noticeable differences in the lives of people struggling with chronic pain and psychological issues surrounding touch and safety. While I welcome the opportunity to work with a variety of pathologies, postural change and recovery from injuries are particular passions of mine.

Clients have described my work as specific, intuitive, and gentle but deep. While my natural style includes neuromuscular treatment and deep tissue with gentle rocking to coax the body into relaxed state, I work hard to foster an open line of communication with my clients - as their input is an invaluable part of the healing process and I want to create a comfortable and safe environment to foster that healing.

My interest in bodywork started when I was in college, but it wasn’t until after receiving my BA in Cultural Anthropology that I realized I wanted to pursue massage as a career. I received my massage training from Cortiva Institute where I learned a number of different modalities and techniques including Swedish massage, myofascial release, deep tissue massage, and neuromuscular treatment.

I enjoy working with people who are interested in improving their body awareness, health, and well-being. Clients appreciate my nurturing and compassionate nature and have described my touch as being gentle, effective and calming.

Connecting with clients, and helping them connect with their own body, has been one of the most rewarding parts of being a bodyworker. I love learning about the human body and I’m excited to continue to learn and grow as a massage practitioner.
